We pray that Allah blesses our time in the current month of Sha’ban and to make us live to witness Ramadan, the month of fasting, reading, studying and listening to the Quran to purify ourselves and draw nearer to Allah.  We will keep you updated on the confirmed start of Ramadan. We hope you are able to benefit from this Ramadan experience.

 The Daily Iftar Program?
Please contribute to sponsoring the Iftar meals this Ramadan 1433 Hijri (2012). The meals offered in the mosque attract students, families and friends so they can reunite, socialize and pray together. Young adults get to experience Ramadan evenings at the mosque. We need your financial support to make this blessed community gatherings possible. Please sincerely donate to cover part or all the expenses of a specific night or multiple nights. Everyone has a chance. No donation is too small. $1, $5, $10, $50, $100+.

The more people who contribute, the smoother the Iftar operation will be and the better we can plan the logistics ahead of time. The donation targets of $200 per day are based on our crowd experience from last year. The costs include:

Free Iftar meals (average of 20 meals during the week days, and 100 on Fri-Sun; estimated at $7 each)
For the purposes of facilitating fundraising logistics for the Iftars please contact a staff to inform when you will sponsor iftar. You will be to pledge your donations at the premises of the mosque, please speak to a staff member.

Shaw Masjid activities and logistics are established and managed mainly by volunteers, and the mosque depends on the generous support of responsible friends like you who realize the importance of instituting, improving and sustaining mosques.

Apart from the donation opportunity below, we will also provide an opportunity for you inside the mosque to give Zakat Al-Fitr which we make sure it reaches inshallah a needy person before or on the day of Eid’ul Fitr. Please donate knowing that you are benefiting yourself first and foremost and we will make sure that your donation is put to proper use.
